Two important documents: - Viscount's Letters Patent on vellum, with engraved letterhead, the text entirely handwritten, by which Louis XVIII confirms his order of 19 November 1815 by which he had decorated Lieutenant General Briche with the title of Viscount, and confirms his new coat of arms painted on the head, dated 17 December 1818, signed Louis and Pasquier Garde des Sceaux, a large green wax seal, showing Louis XVIII in majesty on his throne, attached to red and green silk lakes. Stored in their original tin tube with reserve for the seal (45.5 x 62 cm). - Order of the Legion of Honour, Grand Officer's certificate on vellum, the text partially printed in a large engraved frame, decorated with trophies of arms, surmounted by the arms of France supported by two winged victories, by which Louis XVIII appoints the Viscount de Briche "lieutenant general of our armies" grand officer of the Royal Order of the Legion of Honour to take rank as from 1 May 1821, dated 24 November 1821, signed Louis (claw) and Mac Donald, seal under paper, annotated on the back of his dates of appointment and promotions in the Legion of Honour (43 x 51 cm). GROUPS OF DECORATIONS and SOUVENIRS ATTRIBUTED SOUVENIRS of GENERAL BRICHE André, Louis, Élisabeth, Marie Briche, Baron, then Viscount de Briche (1772-1825), a brilliant cavalry general, he began his career as a cavalryman in the 1st regiment of mounted chasseurs in 1790, Second lieutenant in 1791, lieutenant in 1793, he distinguished himself in the Italian army within the 11th regiment of hussars during the battles of Trebbia and Marengo, he was then promoted squadron leader by Murat. He was one of the first members of the Legion of Honour on 25 March 1804. Colonel in 1806, he took command of the 10th regiment of hussars with whom he participated in the campaigns of 1806 and 1807 and distinguished himself in the battles of Saalfeld and Jena.
