Austria - Order of the Iron Crown, founded in 1805, modified and integrated into the Austrian orders in 1815, knight's jewelry in gold and enamel, the crown lined with iron (tiny splinters with a few pearls), title hallmark in chamois, 750 and F.R. of the Rothe house, triangular ribbon. In the original burgundy sorrowful box struck with the name and class of the order. With: Patent in German dated 9 July 1868, dry stamp, official translation, letter of announcement of the decree of the Grand Chancellery of the Legion of Honour dated 17 December 1868 and the accompanying letter from the Ministry of the Interior. The minutes of the meeting of 21 July 1868 of the Vienna International Telegraph Conference are attached, in which the circumstances of the exceptional presentation of this order are recorded. 55 x 29 mm, gross weight: 20.6 g Austria, circa 1868. APC to REMEMBER of PIERRE-PAUL VIGIER and MEMBERS of his FAMILY Pierre-Paul Vigier (1829-1872). A senior French civil servant, he made a career in telegraphy, which was then in full development. Secretary of the Vienna International Telegraph Conference in 1868, he participated in the drafting of the reports of that Conference, which were published in Vienna under the title "Documents of the Vienna International Telegraph Conference". His sudden death at age 42 ended a promising career.
