France, two silver medals: - Institut de France, identity medal by Dumarest, large silver module, on the obverse, Minerva in bust on the right, wearing a helmet surmounted by a snake, on the reverse, in the center of a laurel wreath surmounted by a star, the award engraved "CORDIER (HENRI) - 1908", punch horn of plenty and silver (cleaned, shock on the edge, 49.5 mm). - Centenary of the School of Oriental Languages, silver commemorative plaque by Alfred Borrel, on the obverse, in a library, a pupil in front of a painting engraved with oriental characters, guided by the Republic, standing behind him, holding a tablet engraved with the date "30 March 1795", at his side four scholars personify Arabia, Persia, China and India; to the exergue, in an animated cartouche the legend "CENTENARY OF THE FOUNDATION OF THE SCHOOL OF LIVING EASTERN LANGUAGES"; on the reverse, a winged victory, sounding the trumpet and holding a palm, passes behind a bust of Lakanal surmounting a list of famous linguists, against the monument, a seated student reads a book, in the background on the left, a Chinese palace in front of the rising sun, on the right, a palm tree and a mosque, hallmark horn of plenty and silver (cleaned, 67 x 61 mm).
