Austria - Order of Franz Joseph, founded 1849, silver grand officer's plaque worked in openwork diamond points, the cross in enamelled gold, the reverse side decorated with the cartouche of the house of Mayer's in Vienna, Vienna hallmark, fastening by a tilting pin. In the original black chagrin case stamped in gold lettering "F.J.O. Stern zum Komturkreuze". 80 mm Austria, late 19th century. SUP SOUVENIRS du BARON de ROUJOUX, SUB-CHIEF OF THE PROTOCOL André, Prudence, Valentin, Guillaume de Buxeuil, Baron de Roujoux (1859-1906), senior civil servant at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he began his career in the commercial affairs department, then was assigned to protocol. In 1902 he became deputy head of this prestigious department, whose untimely death prevented him from taking over. On 13 January 1906, the Illustration paid tribute to him in these terms: "the tact and activity which Baron de Roujoux brought to the accomplishment of his delicate duties were greatly appreciated". The Musée d'Orsay retains his portrait executed in 1904 by Paul Renouard, where he is represented alongside Armand Mollard, head of protocol (file LH/398/77).
