China - Order of the Double Dragon, 2nd class IIIrd grade plaque in the shape of a sun with eight silver rays charged with the jewel in vermeil and enamel, in the centre, an engraved pink coral cabochon set between two silver dragons set in high relief, in the surround, the legend in Manchu and Han characters meaning "given by the emperor of the great dynasty of the Tsing, 2nd class, 3rd grade" and "conferred imperial precious double dragon star", fixed by a tilting pin, title punch 88 for St Petersburg on the pin, shown in the centre of the reverse side alongside an unidentified goldsmith's mark". In the original red silk velvet case, the interior is gleaming with silk, and the label bears the ideograms indicating the class of the order. 90 x 88 mm Russia, late 19th century (before 1896). SUP
