Order of the Holy Spirit, knight's jewel in vermeil and enamel, the reserves of the chiselled branches of green enamelled flames, the enamelled dove brought back on a plain background, center of the reverse in two parts, Saint Michael on a burnished background, trigger guard in the shape of an acanthus leaf, suspension ring replaced, crab punch (a distorted cheekbone). With a faded scarf. 68 x 56 mm France, 20th century. TB to APC This jewel and the plaque below, are to be compared with the insignia of the Order of the Holy Spirit worn by Philippe Duke of Orleans (1869-1929), great-grandson of Louis-Philippe, pretender to the throne of France under the name of Philip VIII, great explorer and naturalist and the only Orleans pretender to have conferred the Order of the Holy Spirit.
