Wallet of Peer of France, large wallet in green long grain morocco with friezes and golden palmettes stamped with the name of "Mr Le Marquis De Dampierre" followed by three fleur-de-lys (missing the clasp, wears). 38 x 29 cm France, Restoration. Elie-Louis-Aymar, Marquis de Dampierre (1787-1845) peer of France in 1827, refused to take the oath of office to Louis-Philippe and resigned in 1830. He is the ancestor of Emmanuelle de Dampierre (1913-2012), first wife of Jacques-Henri de Bourbon (1908-1975), Duke of Anjou and Duke of Segovia, legitimate claimant to the throne of France.
