Society of Volunteers of 1870-1871, known as "des Tirailleurs à la branche de houx" or "des Francs-Tireurs des Ternes", membership badge by Guerchet in silver, engraved attribution "E. BOUDEAU Francs Tireur DE PARIS", hallmark of the Monnaie de Paris silver and bee, articulated gilt copper crown, period ribbon. Enclosed is a photograph of General Boulanger and a letter from General Boulanger dated January 23, 1890, from Saint-Hélier to the Hôtel de la Pomme d'or, presumably addressed to Elie Boudeau, then a Member of Parliament, congratulating him on a speech in the House. 35 x 28 mm France, last third of the 19th century. APC to SUP Elie Boudeau (1852-1912), politician and numismatist, deputy for the Seine from 1889 to 1893, member of the League of Patriots and baker.
