Rectangular snuffbox in yellow gold decorated with staples of foliage and fleur-de-lys at the corners on an amati background. The hinged lid is set with two oval miniatures on ivory representing Henri Comte de Chambord and his sister Louise Duchesse de Parme, signed Lequeutre and applied with the initials H and L set with rose-cut diamonds. Master Goldsmith: Alexandre Raoul Morel (1833-1850) Greek doctor's mark 3rd title for gold 750 thousandths, 1838-1919, engraved on the throat "577". In its black leather case monogrammed H and marked Ouzille Lemoine & Fils on the bottom. (Very small accidents). Dimensions: 91 x 60 x 21 mm Gross weight: 149.7 g Height of the miniatures: 38 mm The miniatures are signed on the right side Joseph Hippolyte Lequeutre (1793-1877), miniature painter, he was a pupil of Jean-Baptiste Isabey. He was one of the miniature painters of the Duchess of Berry, who lived on rue de la Grange Batelière in Paris. He painted a series of miniatures of the royal family. Accompanied by a handwritten letter from the Count of Chambord dated March 11, 1855 in Venice to Mr. Mathé from Maine, offering him this snuffbox as a souvenir. This object has remained in the Maine Mathé family until today.
