-Yellow gold case (750 thousandths), the hinged lid monogrammed "L.C.O" surmounted by a royal crown enhanced with blue enamel in a frame of chiselled foliated scrolls on an amati background. The guilloché back also in a foliated frame underlined with shell corners. In a red morocco case with the figure of the Duke of Nemours, the BAPST Joaillier du Roi and the crown quai de l'Ecole 30, bearing on the bottom four handwritten labels stating: "Souvenir de H.A.R le duc de Nemours.... à bord du Sphinx 29 8bre 1836 Expédition de Constantine" "Fix Allegre capitaine de corvette" Paris 1819-1838 (3rd title) Goldsmith: Louis François TRONQUOY Length: 8.6 cm. Louis-François TRONQUOY (1798 towards -1871), goldsmith, son of Jean-François TRONQUOY opened his sign, La Tabatière, at 8 rue des Prouvaires in Paris in 1827, he worked until 1871. He specialized under the Restoration and the July Monarchy in the manufacture of boxes called "de présent", most often in gold, decorated with enamel or precious stones, offered by the king or by members of the royal family. He worked in collaboration with BAPST, Jeweller to the King and the Crown.
