S.l.n., 1757. 2 volumes in one small volume in-8, (4)-206-(4)-168-(2 of which the last one white) pp., marbled brown calf, spine ribbed and floral with garnet title piece, threaded cuts, speckled edges, two split bit departures (contemporary binding). ORIGINAL EDITION. Copy with 11 boxes, like the BnF one, 8 in the first part, paginated 31-32, 99-100, 115-116, 127-128, 129-130, 141-142, 143-144, 169-170, and 3 in the second part, paginated 131-132, 157-158, 159-160. Frontispiece engraved on copper by Louis Legrand after Jacques de Sève. PRINCIPALLY ON TRADE WITH EASTERN SCALES AND WITH AMERICA. The author also discusses French and Dutch fisheries, land cultivation, and defends the freedom to export grain. From an Irish Jacobite family, Count de Magnières was governor and president of the Conseil supérieur de l'île Bourbon, director general of Commerce, and published several works on political economy (INED, no. 3411; Kress, no. 5636; absent from Einaudi).
