APULEAUS (Lucius Apuleius, known as). The Metamorphoses of the Golden Ass. In Paris, by Nicolas & Jean de La Coste, 1648.
Petit in-8, garnet morocco, smooth spine decorated with golden latticework, gilt edges (18th century binding).
French translation and commentary by Jean de Montlyard. Illustration engraved on copperplate by several artists including Crispijn Van de Passe. Provenance: leather ex-libris with the arms of the Du Tillet family.
