Large rocaille clock on its base, in gilded bronze decorated with characters from the Commedia dell' Arte with Sancho Panza heckled. Enamel dial and movement plate signed Ches Balthazar in Paris. Louis XV period. Height: 65 cm - Length: 48 cm Depth: 26 cm Charles Balthazard, received Master in Paris in 1717, active until 1772. A comparable clock by the watchmaker Jacques Furet is kept at the Wallace Collection in London (F90).
