Ink and colours on paper, dandelions, their egrets flying away. Signed Taikan and two stamps of the artist. (Moisture stains). 43,5 x 53 cm After his studies, Yokoyama Taikan participated in the foundation of the Academy of Fine Arts with Okakura Kakuzo, before founding a new association, Nihon Bijustu-in. He participated in the revival of nihonga painting, drawing inspiration from Western techniques and eliminating line drawing. He had a long career, received the Medal of Culture and was promoted to the Academy of Arts of the Imperial Household.
